How we work to achieve our goals

  • Working alongside the Ministry of Health to develop Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease priorities and work-plans

  • Organising a national stock-take of the current status of Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease clinical services across all DHBs, to identify gaps, disparities, and strengths to inform priorities for future service provision and development

  • Developing a website as an accessible repository for documents, and to provide Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease information and education for the health workforce and the wider community

  • Support the development  of a national Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease register to coordinate patient management within and across the DHBs and report national burden of disease data (that can be integrated into a future EHR based register)

  • Updating and disseminating evidence-based, national Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease clinical guidelines

  • Establishing community engagement and provision of Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease information, advice support, and advocacy for patients and whānau
